Ok, I'm playing on my monk, and I'm having serious issues with the Strength of Snow quest. I can't do the end bit. I've tried sitting there, but it always seems like the grentches own my snowmen, and then own me. My Ice Breaker doesn't last long enough to be of any use to me, and the other two utility skills are usually recharging when I need them.

Any advice for doing this as a monk?

just run to the door and idle there til the end doing nothing in the fight

class doesnt matter

Just run to the door and /afk and see what happens

I don't see people saying it ruins the game. If they have, then agreed it doesn't ruin the game. It is, however, unfair to have only 3 of millions of players have one. The drop rate is apparently incredibly low, since i'm sure if anyone would have gotten one sooner that goes to this forum (and there are many, many players that do) they'd undoubtedly have posted about it. I think it's "unfair" not "ruining the game". If i don't get one for my girlfriend, so be it, but not for want of trying and we'll carry on with whatever else. It'd just be nice to have an oppurtunity to get it for more people, than have there be such a limited amount in game that sell for millions of gold.

Lol - I gotta wonder - on what day of the week do the developer meet to invent ways to piss players off?

They had to know the reaction this would bring - first introduce a mini that was so rare it didn't even show up till the last day of a 12 day festival even though thousands of people doing the same quest over and over throughout the two weeks. Then they lie to Gaile to make sure the players can never trust her again. And when they finally do tell the truth they let us know you have about 18 hours to get the bears and then it's gone for another year. Talk about a recipe for frustration.

Pissing people had to be intentional - no one could have done this and thought it would have been hailed a wonderful thing by all and sundry. (except maybe the same group of ????? who released pigs in presents last February, then immediately lowered the drop rate to bump the price over 60k and then dumped them on us like candy to make sure people who spent a lot felt jerked around)

Leslie read the last few pages and there is specific mention of RUINING the game. Its not really unfair either.

Do you expect to win the lottery if you don't buy a ticket? I sure as hell don't. All those suckers just help me pay my taxes.

Regardless, people would complain about this no matter what, just like people complain about minipets originally coming only to birthdays, and then special ones in magazines, and then to only certain countries. Then the Mini Pig everyone thought was so awesome and complained it was too rare. Then the finale gave a million of them away, and then everyone complained they were too common. Nobody is ever happy except for me I guess.

Oh well. *skips off all happy go lucky into another quest because he doesn't need a mini-pet to have fun or feel equal*

And also, the pet is confirmed to have been available all of Wintersday, not just in the last day. Just no one has advertised it. Having something super rare is cool in my opinion.

TBH, yes, it's frustrating. One recorded drop in 12 days, only available once a year... ANet's kinda pushing it. I doubt they're going to raise the drop rate or something (for now anyways). I don't really care if I don't get one ('cause I KNOW I won't, come on x]) but it'd be nice if I had (I'd have kept it) so... going back to regular programmation after a while of doing the quest. Farming for armor o.o.

It could be possible if they were killed at the right time, try waiting longer, but tbh helping them really speeds things up, which is the main thing.

oh yea, second run 4 polars and an eggnog. =D

But seriosly is 1 person got it after all this time it must be pretty damm rare, or mabay its not from the chest at all!!!

you'll have to trust me on that one, i got 4 wintersday drops + pet instead of 5 items, i didnt screen because

you have 10 secs to pick those (lag etc u know)
i was in awe and lost half that time eyeblinking

hence the outpost screen

Congrats to Witchblade, but I wish they wouldn't make holiday stuff like this so rare. I think most would agree that the Canthan New Year pig was too easy to farm, but this is frustratingly the other way. Can't we have some balance, ANet?
